"Easy, I'll show ya!" Taj barked happily, taking off at a gallop toward the pond. With it in sight, he slowed to a stop and waited for Sylver to catch up.

"Watch closely, Sylv, let a pro show you how it's done," Taj said jokingly, laughing out loud afterward. He approached the bank of the pond and stood completely still, staring down at the water...
Sylver copied him, her gray body completely still, except her eyes which glanced at Taj every now and then.

Jargo growled, hating to be ordered around, but he was going to hold up his end of the deal. "Go ahead; get out of my face." he grinned. "Don't let Diablo hit you on the butt on the way out." Then he turned to Harli, and looked at the pups. "What should we name them, my dear?" he smiled.
Harli was just stirring from her sleep, and looked up at him. "I don't know." She murmured softly, looking at the bundles of fur.

Jargo picked up the white pup. "Now who does he remind me of...?" he mused quietly. The pup yawned a tiny, squeaking yawn, and he could see it's toothless pink mouth. He smiled lovingly, and felt an overwhelming feeling of love and protectivness for this tiny creature. He decided right then and there that he was going to defend them with his life, if he had to.

Swampson nodded, then headed out of the den. He looked around, slightly disoriented and trying to regain his bearings.

Sonya slipped out of the den past him and pointed. "I think it's that way," she said timidly, glancing around as if expecting someone to attack.

"Good, Sonya," Swampson said to her. "Let's go home, girls." And he hobbled off toward Golden pack's territory with Sonya close behind. Before long, they were at the border, which Swampson just crossed before his fatigue proved too much and he needed to sit. "Can one of ya girls howl fer some'un t'a come this way?" he asked.

Sonya, having been born deaf, wasn't sure she knew how to howl. She looked to Hollyleap expectantly.

Suddenly, Taj dove into the pond, sending water flying in all directions. He was momentarily invisible beneath the murky waters, though soon his head emerged at the surface, his mouth full of pond grasses. Spitting them out, he made a 'bleh' face, then laughed, looking up at Sylver. "Missing's half the fun!" he exclaimed, climbing ashore and shaking off. "So you got it? Wait 'til you see a fish, and then--SPLASH!" He grinned, his fur matted against him with water, making him look silly.

Harli staggered to the den entrance, and lifted her voice in a weak howl. "Thank you Swampson!" She called. Then staggered back, and sank into the moss.

Sylver burst into bubbly laughter. "Yeah, I got it." She laughed. "Though now, you probably scared all of them off!" She smiled, and nudged his ear.

"Yeah?" Taj replied. "Well, I dunno... I think I see one there!" He yipped excitedly like a young pup, hopping back into the water and splashing at Sylver. "Hey, maybe we can catch 'em from down here!" he said mysteriously, his eyes wide. He took in a deep breath, closed his eyes, and went under, vanishing beneath the water's surface.

((I'm sorry, I'm totally exhausted at this point... I think I'm gonna go to bed. Good night, y'all. :) ))

(Night! Sweet dreams!)

Sylver sprinted up to the water's edge, and pushed off with her paws, landing in the water with a small splash. She swam down until she could feel the water churning from Taj's paws.

"Oh, no! The pups! Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear me! Where could they be?" Sasha exclaimed. She looked at Lia, her brown eyes wide.
Lia let out a loud sharp howl, yelling their names. " JENNA!!! AMANDA!!!!" She screamed frantically...

Amanda heard her mother a yowl, she lowered her ears, knowing they were in trouble...

Taj was paddling awkwardly, blinking as his eyes adjusted to the feel of water against them. It was murky, especially where beams of sunlight came down through the water and reflected against particles of dirt likely kicked up by the swimming dogs. He looked to Sylver, motioning for her to follow as he swam on out into the pond.

The occasional school of fish swam by at a distance, their scales glittering in the sunlight. Pond grass in patches here or there wriggled with the current that their paws created. Taj smiled contentedly, looking around and taking it all in. It was no wonder it was his favorite place to be!

He ducked his head and spun to a stop in the water, grinning and doing a short eyebrow raise, his eyes on Sylver. Bubbles escaped his mouth, though, as he did, and his grin was swept away. He motioned upward, and then quickly swam to the surface, taking in a deep breath when he emerged.

"Didja make it, Sylv?" he asked after catching his breath, adding a wink afterward. "Pretty cool, huh?"
