Jargo chuckled and placed her back beside Harli. Then he leaned over and licked Harli's cheek. "I'm going out to hunt, love. You'll need food to keep your strength up."
Harli murmured in her sleep, her paws moved, then she fell silent.

Ginger yowled louder, wriggling away from her mother again.

Not at all," said Ursa, shaking her head as she spoke. "I paced our borders a number of times too; so far nothing. Something doesn't seem all too right, don't ya think?
"No, it doesn't.... something's not right about this entire situation. We've been living in peace for several sunrises, now. He's plotting something." Rex said, squinting his eyes, as if trying to see into the Jargoan Territory.

"Agreed..." she replied, turning her head to stare over the border.

Taj laughed as well. "Yeah, it's an acquired taste," he said with a shrug. He looked happily toward the fish Sylver caught, then sighed, knowing they'd need to get it back to camp before long.

"Well, Sylv, it's been a trip," he said with a content smile. "But I think we'd better get that fish back home so it doesn't go to waste." He shook off again, though only a fine misting of water came out of his fur that time. Then, he picked up the fish to carry it for Sylver and waited for her to take the lead.
Sylver smiled. Taj wasn't a moron at all. He was very kind, and Faith's remark only made her like him more. She trotted past him, her gray eyes twinkling with happiness.

"Agreed..." she replied, turning her head to stare over the border.

Rex nodded. "Well, keep on alert. He's more than likely planning something."

Melanie saw the two dogs, and curiosity get the better of her. She stood from nursing the pups, and slunk from the den, Paisley yowling hungrily. "I'll be back soon." She promised, tucking her beside her brothers. Then she hurried from the den.

Rex sniffed the air. "Something doesn't smell right; a storm's blowing in. We'd better get back to the den. Ursa, you can stay here or come back to the dens." He said. Then he whirled to face Melanie. "We should get back to the dens; a storm's coming, and a mighty big un' from the scent of the wind."

Something about Rex's body language said that he knew something horrible was coming.
