Delano nodded, which caused Swampson to nod as well. He began to walk, his large strides making it impossible for Swampson to keep up.

"Oi, yer hurtin' me!" barked Swampson, though Delano ignored him, dragging him along. Before long they were back in Jargoan territory, and Jargo's den was in sight. Delano approached, releasing Swampson at last.

Exhausted from the walk, Swampson collapsed right there outside the den. "What in th'--Who do ya think ya are?!" he snapped, though he could barely catch his breath.

"Get in," Delano coldly ordered.

Swampson managed to drag himself upright to sit, bravely looking Delano in the eye. "I'll get in when I darned well please!" he retorted, though he fell silent when Delano's gaze locked with his.

Jargo growled. "Get him over to another den. I have someone else to go get. Someone who will convince him to stay here. Diablo, Delano: keep him in this den." Jargo gestured to the den, which was only two dens away from the Alpha den, where Harli was.

Harli lay writhing in the den, the pain growing worse and worse.
Cujo again, slunk into the den.
Harli emitted a sound similar to a cats hiss, and scrambled to her feet. "Get away from me!" She snarled weakly.
Cujo stuck out his lower lip. "Aw come'on Harlipoo, I like ya." He crooned.
Harli's eyes burned with anger. "GET. AWAY. FROM. ME!" She howled.
Cujo raced to her, snapping his jaws down in her muzzle; silencing her howl. "Shut up! Do you want to get me in trouble?!" He snarled.
Harli ripped her muzzle free. "Duh!!" She scoffed.
Cujo's face fell. "Please Harli, I like you. A lot. Run away with me. We'll go kill Endigo together; we'll defeat him alone! By ourselves!"
"CAN'T YOU SEE I'M IN NO POSITION TO RUN AWAY?!" She screeched. "LEAVE!! I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR FACE AGAIN!!!"
Cujo scrambled to the entrance. "I'll never leave you Harli. I'm always here." He smiled slyly, then slipped away.

((Ooooh, getting another bad feeling... ))

Delano reached to take Swampson by the scruff again, but Swampson scrambled out of the way with surprising agility for how exhausted he was. "I'm goin', I'm goin'..." he growled, getting to his feet and limping to the den that Jargo pointed out. He paused outside of it, glaring at Jargo and the other Jargoan dogs, then ducked his head and entered the den without another word.

Silently, stoically, Delano walked over to stand by the entrance to the den, nodding to Jargo and awaiting any further orders.

Diablo snickered at Swampson. His beady black eyes held no emotion, only devilish, demonic glints in his eyes. He bared his teeth, and advanced at Swampson, snapping his jaws multiple times.

Swampson opened his maw to say something, though he snapped it back shut and instead gave Diablo a brave, stern look. He puffed out his chest and held his head high. He was a proud dog, and he sure as heck wasn't gonna be killed like a coward.

Jargo loped off to find Sonya. Knowing that Swampson seemed to care for her, he knew that he wouldn't leave if he played his usual trick: to keep someone against their will in return to not kill their dearly beloved.

Diablo laughed. "Ooh, I'm absolutely terrified!" he said, sarcasm oozing in his deep voice.

(I was going to say, "Ooh, I quiver with fear!" but decided against it. Silkies, where is that saying from? Hehe...)

Harli howled in agony, her sides shuddering in pain. Blood pooled below her, staining her belly fur scarlet red.

Sonya had dropped off a few plants Swampson had pointed out at the church den to keep on hand for an emergency. With that out of the way, she was on her way back to her father to continue their survey of the land. She approached the tree that he had been sitting by, looking around with a frown on her face. Where had he gone? And then she noticed the scent of unfamiliar dogs in the area.

Something was wrong! Something was very wrong!

Sonya turned to run back to the church den and report that her father was missing, unaware that someone would soon be after her, too...

((Eek, I knew it! Run, Sonya, run! :fl ))
