Taj didn't think he understood, but he could tell it was probably not a good idea to press for anything further. "So my name's Taj, and these are my peeps--Fay and Sylv," he introduced gently, pointing to Faith and then sylver. "So what's your name, little lady?"

The pup continued to sob, and she looked around at the dogs in the den, her eyes resting on Sylver. "Mommy..." she whined, closing her eyes, and crying.

Jargo continued to watch the storm. The winds had, if anything, gotten more violent.

Rex watched her go, wondering who she was, where she came from, and why she was so motherly. He looked at Melanie. "She's strange, isn't she?" he said.
Sylver's ears fell back. Her instincts rose inside, and stepping towards the pup she asked; "Hon, what wrong?" She whispered, her voice low and gentle.

Harli watched the storm, hugging her pups even closer. Ginger yowled in discomfort, and pressed against her with her tiny paws.

"Yes, she is." Melanie replied, her voice taut.

(Woops, my post came late.)

"My name's... Ella." the puppy said, still sniffling, before sobbing again. Finally, she got a hold of herself.

Ella, who was still sniffling, pulled herself together. Her eyes were red from crying, but she was able to speak. "Me and my mommy... we were walking back to the den, and we were walking close to the road... the wind blew my mommy into the wind, and a car came... and then it ran into her..." she started crying all over again. Then she ran to Sylver, sobbing all over again.

Tarro whined, and crawled closer to Ebony, whimpering and squirming. Jargo's eyes grew ever grim as he observed the storm, as it worstened, with floods of water now standing almost 3 inches off the ground, and trees blowing down.

"Where do you reckon she really came from? She certainly smells of Jargoan Pack." Rex said, his brow furrowed with confusion.

"Good to meet ya, li'l El," Taj said, his habit of shortening others' names kicking in without him thinking about it. "Well, we can't do anything until the storm passes, but I'm sure these gals don't mind if ya stick around, okay?"

Faith sat back and watched Taj, impressed. She had never liked pups, not since in her birth pack she was made to puppysit all the time while all the males her age got to go out and learn to fight and hunt. But to see Taj, who was too spacy to do most things right, get along so easily with the youngster made her smile. She watched quietly, ignoring the rumbling thunder and howling wind coming from the opening of the den.

Sylver curled her neck around the pup, her gray eyes soft with tears. "It's alright; everything will be alright." She murmured.

Ebony yapped, and pushed against her brother with her paws. Harli watched her mate, her expression frightened, and concerned.

"I know." Melanie mused. "She's young, not more than three I believe."
