Banner whirled around. The temptress! He thought. Hardening his expression, he said curtly. "I don't need to be cared for." He frowned at the pretty dog.

"Ah, um." Harli stared hard at Jargo, trying desperately to not let him see her fright, and apprehension. "Um, well...." She stuttered. "I don't know." She looked down.

"Oh, it's okay... I understand the pain, and the humiliation... I, too, have endured the same..." and she squeezed up a fake sniffle.

"Mm-hmm." she "sniffled". "I ran away a long time ago because he hurt me." she showed a scar under her belly. She hadn't received it from Jargo. She had received it from the sharp hoof of a horse.
