Delano cleared his throat. "Nessa is overwhelmed," he reported, his rumbling voice as quiet as ever. "The pack seems to be suffering from a lack of leadership. No one is around where one would expect. They also don't seem to be bringing in much food." With that, he fell silent to allow Jargo to respond to the news.
Jargo showed vague interest in this. "Mm, but that is expected when there isn't an Alpha around..." he said, sneering.

Harli smiled, and nudged him playfully.

Layla scrambled to her feet. She curled her lip, snarling angrily. Shaking her fur, she trotted out into the sunlight, her tail and head held high, as if nothing had happened. "What." She asked, her voice taut. Harli stepped towards her, her eyes murderous.
Layla flicked her tail disdainfully at Harli, walking right past her. Harli nearly snapped her jaws on her throat, but knew she could inflict some pain on Layla during the fight. Layla stepped towards Jargo. "I asked you; what?" She said, her voice emotionless.

Jargo leaped at Layla, snapping his jaws shut inches from her nose. "I do NOT have to answer to YOU!" he roared. "If I choose not to reply, that is exactly what I will do!"

Layla jerked her nose back, blinked, then sat down. "Sorry." She said, her voice level. "We need you, darling." Harli smiled, brushing her tail on Layla's shoulders as she walked past. "We're planning a raid on GoldenPack, and need you to fight alongside us." She sat next to Jargo, and laid her head on his neck. "What if you refuse? Well, I'm afraid to can say goodbye to Melanie." Harli's amber eyes gleamed. Layla's eyes widened. She nodded once, slowly, then looked down.

"There's a good girl..." Jargo soothed. "Now, prepare yourself for battle! Prove yourself worthy, and you can have Melanie back, considering there won't be a Golden Pack for you to run away to."

Layla's head shot up, her eyes full of fury. "Jargo. If I ever get away from you, you should know I'll be back for your blood." She snarled. Harli's eyes shone. "I have two things to say to that. One: You'll never get away from us. Two: That's the way to talk. But only about your enemies. Otherwise, that punishment for Melanie is growing in size." She stepped towards Layla. "So I suggest you don't say something like that. Again."

(Harli still is incredibly impressive!)

Jargo gave an exaggerated yawn, and turned to leave. "I'll let my fine mate do the talking for me; I'm done, here." he said. "Harli: if she tries to leave, kill Melanie, then send Delano to get her."

(Thanks!)

Harli turned. "I am going to fight with you. Right?" Her voice was questioning, but also a little demanding. Layla cowered back, staring towards her pup's den.

Melanie crouched at the entrance, her ears drooped, letting out tiny pitiful yips.

"Of course, my dear. Of course..." Jargo replied.

Turning his burning eyes on Melanie, he roared "SILENCE, YOU IRRITATING LITTLE BRAT!"
