Ever heard of centripetal force? (Sorry, I don't want to sound mean, but... come on.

(Pipd is right: let's please be realistic.)

(Oh yeah, it's scary!)

Rex finished digging the hole, and went back to Banner's body. He bowed his head, and stayed that way, silent, sorrowful. Finally, he lifted his head, and looked... looked at Layla, his eyes glittering with tears.

Endigo rolled his eyes, and turned his tail to Buck, muttering.

Jargo heard Harli's groan, and decided to try to find food for her. He loped off, into the open, just a white blur running through the evening sunshine.
Melanie dropped beside Banner, and laid her head on his chest. He was cold and stiff. Melanie sobbed bitterly.

Buck's jaws parted into a cackling smile.

Harli watched him go, and smiled. She truly loved her mate. Something she had never felt before.

Rex sighed, and picked up his friend by the scruff. He dragged the heavy dog into the hole, and sat down, panting, and quite unhappy. His eyes glinted with tears.

"What's so funny, mutt?" Endigo growled. "You know, you're really fat: look at the skin around your jowls, and your thick body; you look like a wine barrel!" Then, it was Endigo's turn to smile.

Jargo got low to the ground, and slunk through the trees. Suddenly, he stopped dead in his tracks: a plump, juicy rabbit stood right in front of him. Jargo sized up the situation, and saw that it was also standing right in front of it's burrow. One wrong move, and it would dive in, out of his reach! Jargo had to go about this carefully!

Melanie frowned, trying to stop crying. Her eyes were closed tightly, then she bent down and licked her mate one last time. "Oh Banner, I love you. You were so brave. Our pups will be-" She burs into tears again, then continued in a shaky voice; "They will be beautiful. I just know it. I love you, I'll tell our pups about what a wonderful dad you would've been." She tucked her head around his, then stepped away, looking up at Rex.

"That's a good thing when your fighting." Buck smiled. "Dogs can't to to your vitals." He glanced over Endigo's body. "Pf, your nothin' but skin and bones. You will be dead in an instant." He chortled.

Rex began to fling the dirt back into the hole, using his paws. He worked furiously, pouring his anger and his sorrow into his work. Bitter tears streamed down his face.

"Yeah, but it makes you look fat." Endigo pointed out. "Like a great... big... round... tub!" he sneered.

Jargo slipped around the trees, and came up behind the rabbit. He leaned down, held his breath, and lunged, snapping his jaws at the rabbit. He succeeded: he felt the terrified creature squirming in his jaws. With one firm bite, he crushed the rabbit in his jaws. It went limp, twitched a few more times, then lay still, and the scent of death filled Jargo with triumph.

Melanie uttered tiny whines, as Banner slowly disappeared from sight. "Good bye, my love." She whispered.

"Hey, as long as it keeps me alive." Buck smiled calmly.

Finally, Rex filled the hole. He packed the dirt down, and looked at Melanie with a grevious face. Then, he turned, and left. Night had fallen; the moon was round and full, and it's white glow shone down on Banner's grave.

Endigo grinned. "What if you couldn't outrun a dog that was bigger than you?" he snarled.

Melanie watched him go, feeling alone, and deserted. She curled up by Banner's grave, and sobbed quietly.

"Simple. I don't run, I turn and fight; I win." Buck chuckled.

Rex stopped, and turned around. "You can't stay out here all alone, Melanie. Do you want to stay in my den tonight?" he asked.

"That wouldn't work if your enemy was bigger than you; what if your only alternative was to run, but your enemy was faster than you?" Endigo cackled.

Jargo trotted back to the dens with the rabbit.
