"NO!! PLEASE!" Melanie closed her eyes as yet another pain shuddered through her. "Let me have the rest of my pups, then kill me!!" She cried, her ears drooping in submission. Harli watched Jargo, her eyes burning.

Layla just nodded, and sprinted after him. "What's the plan?"

Rex skidded into the den. "You again?!" Jargo snarled, the pup in his jaws.

Rex stood there, his eyes burning. "Put. The pup. DOWN!" he growled, his voice low and menacing. Jargo sneered. "Who's gonna make me?" he laughed.

Dixie stared in horror, then she howled with rage, "They are going to pay for this!" she turned and marched into Everest's den.
