Breathing a sigh of relief! I had several squabs that were just at the quill stage during this last cold spell . We had temps in the -single digits! Usually I lose a bunch when its like that but this time they all made it thru. I guess the parents were so cold they just wanted to sit in the nest too!
Thats why lots of breeders separate their sexes during the winter so they won't breed. I'm not set up for that so I leave mine together year round. I gain a few babies thru winter and sometimes lose a few!
