Surviving the first night...

This is my first night as a chicken mama, and as idealpoultry loves their packing peanuts I have 21 chicks to care for!

Any advice on the first night or week of day old chicks welcomed!!!!

Specific questions:

-whats normal for the first night?
-what do you do with your extra packing peanuts?

When I get new chicks I immediately add electrolyte and probiotics in their water. I do this for the first week at least. As long as they have plenty of water,food and heat they should do well.i have never lost any. Enjoy them they get big fast.

Oh ya extra packing peanuts are usually rooster. If you can’t keep them try giving them away or use them for food.

We made it All 21 peeps awake as heck and accounted for I have a mama brooder set up and around 11pm they were all under there with minimal chatter
