Hi, my name is Neesh. I was born and raised in New York City. 3 years ago I decided to start my own little urban farm here with 10 day old baby chicks. I raised them by hand and absolutely adored every minute of it. I had a coop built with walls made into cement so that nothing could break into my coop from below. Secured it all with two doors. Solid roof. Things went smoothly until two weeks ago. One night a raccoon figured out how to unlock my doors and eliminated all but 3 of my girls. One of the 3 (an Easter Egger) was left severely injured. I only found out because she yelled out, i ran out to see what happened and was greeted by a nightmarish scene. I've been trying to nurse her back to health since then. She's not able to eat properly, wing is broken as well. The other 2, a white silkie and a black copper maran, are unscathed. I know they wont survive with their current numbers as they seem to be stressed now (the injured one is isolated). Since witnessing the bloodbath, I've decided to give up chicken keeping, at least for now. I'd like them to go to a home where they can be safe
