We have started treating with Nutrional Yeast, Rooster Booster, egg and Poultry Cell. One leg has curled toes and is mostly paralyzed. We’ve ruled out mareks. During treatment, do we need to keep her isolated in this tiny crate? I have a larger dog crate in the chicken run and am wondering if I can keep her in there so she will be closer to her friends?

She also had poultry lice which we treated. She was one of three purchased adult hens. The rest of our original flock seem strong and healthy. No issues.

Get Vitamin B-2 supplement. Need a decent dose to fix the problem. I'll get pictures of what I have that fixed Curled Toe Paralysis.

How old is she? Does she lay eggs? What did you use for the lice treatment? Lice can be killed with permethrin garden dust (Prozap and Gardstar) but it only kills the live ones. Eggs hatch every 10 days, so use it again in 10 days to get the new ones as they hatch. I don’t think that you can rule out Mareks yet, since curled toe paralysis can be a symptom. What do you feed her? Don’t overdo the vitamins. She needs riboflavin and a bit of E which may be in all of your products, but too much of A, D, or E is not good.

She is approximately 5 months old. She just laid her first egg a few days ago. She has a good appetite and is alert. Breathing is clear. No respiratory distress. I used a permethrin dust to treat her. I’ve used it about once every 1.5 weeks rubbing it into her neck all around where the Poultry Lice were originally found. I have not seen any elsewhere on her. She currently is on Nutrena All Flock with oyster shell on the side. I have no idea what the farmer fed her originally, but I do know that he got his feed mixed at a grain mill. We’ve had her about a month and the paralysis/limping started approximately 1.5 weeks ago.
