Well it's finally happened! After four years of raising spring chicks we finally have a roo! It's one of my 10 week old EE's. We've been hearing suspicious noises coming from the baby coop for a couple of weeks, and I had finally narrowed it down to two suspects. Well I finally saw him crowing, no doubt now! And he is loud a proud about it too! And now that I've figured him out all of a sudden, literally overnight, his plumage has popped out! So without further ado I would like to introduce Casanova (Nova for short). He really gets vocal when the older laying hens are free ranging around the baby coop, you can almost interpret the crows as " hey baby baby ". I swear I saw my oldest hen roll her eyes as she walked by " oh puhleeease". Lol
