Sussex roo on Australorp hen, what to expect?

Hi all,
I hatched out a batch of eggs from a Sussex rooster and Australorp and Sussex hens. They’re at 3weeks now, and half the batch look like little Sussex and half look like little Australorp. Am I right to guess the Sussex looking chicks would be pure bred, or could some still be half Australorp that have coloured like the rooster?

I would say so, as long as parents are pure breeds.

yup, pics will help but I venture to say all the chicks are crossbreds. What color variety is the Sussex and the Australop?

Why would they all be cross breeds if the pen has a sussex rooster and some sussex hens?
Only way they would all be mixes is if none of sussex were laying.
