Nice birdies! Whats their personality?

Very friendly and always underfoot. Have to watch I don't step on them when I'm in the pen.

I'm very fond of mine. They are very inquisitive and talkative, and nice to look at! My only complaint is that they don't lay very large eggs...but I guess you can't have everything!

Mine lay a nice size egg for the most part.

Well....my girls are hatchery stock all the way. I wouldn't be surprised if well bred birds lay something better!

Are they friendly enough to be picked up?

Well I don't pick my chickens up all the time, but when I do have to catch them for some reason they calm down right away and don't fight being held.

Mine are. They come up to me and crouch to get their backs scratched -- little hussies! -- and I can pick them right up when they do that. One of them doesn't appreciate it much, the other two don't seem to mind.

I would highly recommend them for someone who wants friendly birds. It's hard to beat them off, sometimes.
