SW Virginia
Hello all! I never introduced myself, and to be honest it's kind of awkward not doing this in person. 😁

We live in the deep corner of SW Virginia (or as some have coined it Viginessee, since we're so close to the Tennessee line). We moved to this farm 5 years ago. At the time we were renting and had left the "city" to pursue other things.

When we moved, my husband said the following:
- We will never own a farm. (We now own this farm.)
- We will never be farmers. (We now have cows and chickens with constant conversations about adding more.)
- We will never own 10 acres. Who can afford it? What would we do with it? (The farm came with 10 acres.)
- We will never have chickens...

Our first 6 hens he found for free on Craigslist that same year. 🤣

We now have 4 cows, 14 laying hens, 10 chicks (6 of which might be silver laced Wyandotte), 4 silkies, 2 meat birds, and 1 Bresse rooster. My laying hens include barnyard mixes, buff orpington, barnevelder, lavender orpington, and Bresse.

So much for not being farmers! 🤣🤣
