As some of you may know I hatch and sell lots of chicks, as well as grown birds to
finance my poultry addiction. Well, a friend here in Chehalis, getting sick and
tired of giving auctioneers 30 or 35% of his hard earned money has opened a swap
meet style sale which will be every Saturday.
The first was Feb 6th, and although it was a small start it was great! There
were only 6 sellers but most sold everything they brought. I sold $260 worth of
birds and paid only the $10 seller's fee rather than the $78 the auctioneer would
have taken out of my pocket. Besides, I was able to pretty much name my own
prices and dicker a little if necessary rather than leave the prices up to the chance of
an auction style sale. I know where I'll be next Saturday morning.

We're hoping to grow this into a permanent fixture to benefit the entire community.
