Swede Duck has gone Cuckoo!

What is wrong with her. She acts like she had a brain injury....or am I just missing something? See video.

That is how my broody call ducks act. With their heads a scrunched down, feathers puffed up and quacking loudly. They sit on their nest quietly, but when they get off for a drink or food, they act like this. Judging from her featherless back of the head (due to lots of breeding) I'd say that she has a nest somewhere? Just my observation!

Those were my thoughts at first, however...she doesn't sit on her nest at all. She built one, and pretty much leaves it and wanders around with all the others.

My W.H. drake pokes at her, but doesn't try to breed with her. It's almost like he's annoyed at her quacking, or is telling her to go sit on the eggs. Just seems strange.

They are only about 14 months old, so perhaps she just hasn't quite got all her emotions figured out yet?

I dunno....first summer with adult ducks...still trying to figure it out.
