SWEDISH Duck Thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pics
O gosh they are so cute!!!! I want to try and hatch eggs from my ducks but I don't really have room f or any more!

We picked out 2 black ducklings at the tank at TSC last week, got 3 more this week (picked out 3 more)-- the sign says the choices are mallard, rouen, Khaki campebell, and the Swedish-- so I think we def got the Swedish? Will try to get pics up soon-- they look like the ducklings pics on this thread- hoping we get at least 2 ducks (hens?)...

We are hooked- ducklings are soooo cute....

Wow, you are lucky, our tsc only gets in mallards and pekins, because that's the only breeds mt healty carries. I had to order out of state for mine. :)

Last year I got some ducklings from TSC in Ashland, Ky (only an hour away - not my local one, but I was in the area so stopped in). I assumed that TSC would order from Mt Healthy since it's the closest hatchery, and our local one does. I don't know where those ducklings came from, though.. They had a load of mallards and "black Swedish". That the black swedes were the same size as the mallards should have been a red flag. We ended up taking home one of the Swedish and let me tell you, she LOOKS black Swedish, but she's full grown now and has never grown bigger than the tiny little mallards. My other Swedish (from another source) looks like Duckzilla next to her. Although she's colored perfectly, she's obviously either a long-billed call duck (NOT likely, coming from a hatchery, or even local source), or is a Swedish/mallard mutt. She's also extremely antisocial, like mallards. She won't let me get anywhere near her, let alone touch her. I don't have any good pics of her, but I'll try to get some this evening.
Surely it was a localized incident..but just a heads up for anyone looking at TSC Swedish babies.

Here are som pictures of my friends Swedes. (We live in sweden

I'm joining the group! I just got a pair of 8 month old Swedish blues. I'm already in love. I'm hoping to hatch some ducklings at some point. I'll post pics when my kids let me have the laptop back.

So I got my first egg today!..... don't no who layed it think I have an idea but whoever just left it out in the open (they do that a lot) I didn't think they would start laying now its still kinda cold even though we had some nice days lately . Not sure what to do though if they start laying going to be moving soon do I take the eggs with me and put it in their new cage? And not sure how to move them? Any idea? I was thinking in a box with holes in it I mean only like a 5-10min ride not to far is that the right way to move them?
