Hello, I stay in Fort Lauderdale in a high rise for the winter. So the chickens are to be for Michigan. Thr Swedish Flower Hen is not as tall as the 55 Flowerly Hen. Just about the same colors But I think a little leaner frame. But one never knows what the body frame will be until you see the birds. If you have a picture or two of the Swedish Flower Hen birds, It would be nice to see. Good luck in your search.Hi there and welcome to BYC.
What part of Fl do you travel to? I live outside Orlando. I was recently looking for 55 Flowery Hens which often get confused for SFH, and someone I know found the SFH for me. I don't know what they look like in regards to quality as it's not what I wanted. If you'd like though I can make a call today and see if I can get some pictures. They are also somewhere in the central fl area.
I know what you mean. 72 here. Nice to meet you.Hello, and welcome to BYC. Good luck in your quest.
Yes there are some similarities between the 2 breeds including country of origin. If the SFH is shorter than a 55F it must be a pretty small chicken. I already have 1 grown pullet and she is the reason I was looking for more. I absolutely feel in love with her. Currently have 7 more eggs incubating.Hello, I stay in Fort Lauderdale in a high rise for the winter. So the chickens are to be for Michigan. I had a chat with someone in northeast Ohio that has themHello, I know there many people that have Swedish Flower Hen Chickens. But where can I find the best color, clean headed, legs that are yellow etc. Would like to find either hatching eggs or chicks if possible in the last part of april 2020. Thank you.
They are beautiful!!!I have Flowers and just love them. I actually lucked out and got birds from Greenfire Farm in late summer. View attachment 1986468
A small sample of my flowers. I have both crested and non crested in male and female and plan to breed.
They are great birds. Curious and confident. Not lap chickens but once held they relax.
I’ve not had 55 Flowery Hens to compare size but my boys who are roughly 5 months old are 7 lbs or more. There is no SOP for a landrace breed so it’s up to breeder preference.

I'll call and see if my friend can get in touch with the guy again. If I can I'll just get you his email for you to contact them directly. It's already going through a chain of 3 people on my side.
