Swedish Flower Hen Thread

this is the only picture of the rooster they sent me.
the pink legs say he is not sfh. or at least not pure sfh... tho I do see a couple white tips on his tail feathers he doesn't appear to be truly mottled. and he's not splash based (which can hide the mottling), since there is definite black in his tail and hackles... so I would agree, I don't think he's SFH.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this breed and thread. A friend is giving me their flock and I'm wondering if they are quality specimens or not. There are a few color variations that they have and I know they purchased their starter birds from a breeder a few years ago (but I also know some "breeders" aren't on the up and up. Some of their birds have a "top hat" or somewhat of a wig of extra feathers on their heads.

Can anyone tell me a bit about these specimens? Do they look full bred or decent? Here a couple pics I took:

I got two livestock guardian dogs, brother and sister Great Pyrenees. They were born IN a chicken coop and have shown no aggression to the birds....but they will catch and love them to death. So training consists of teaching them that isn't acceptable and when I'm not able to supervise, I keep the dogs away from the birds, where they can't catch them. When I mess up and let them have access to the birds without supervision, they will bother the poultry trying to play with them. But they stopped my predator issues 100% day one. I am told this pestering of birds will stop when they reach about 2 years of age. Currently, the dogs have free range of the place at night and are kenneled during the day unless I am outside.

A friend of mine has an LGD that can catch hawks, if the hawks come low enough, and has several times. Mine notice and bark at overhead large birds.

I have a GP pup as well. He is 10 months old and loves on my poultry to death as well. He does it to all my animals out of affection, not aggression. Other people have told me this will stop too, I can't wait for that to happen so I can trust him when I'm not around. lol Glad to know someone else is in the same boat. :)
