Swedish Hedemora! (Yes, I know they’re still too young haha)

Hey guys! I’m starting a post here for the 3 little Hedemora I hatched out. It will be a WIP to show the progression and then when they’re a bit older, get some opinions. I had a hard time guessing with my first one as she was wooly feathered, and her face flushed often!

I got 2 smooth feathered and one wooly out of this hatch, and I’m very curious to see how the black/copper ones turn out.

1. Justice (smooth feathered, clean legs)
Few hours post hatch

Approx 1 week

2. Honour (smooth feathered, clean legged)
Fresh hatched

Approx 1 week

3. Mercy (wooly feathered, lightly feathered legs)
Fresh hatched

Approx 1 week

will update week 3-4 and probably 6-8.

I’m getting mine from Breezy Bird - the only place I know that has then readily that has good reviews right now. Where did you get yours from?

Haha, awesome, that’s where mine came from too. no issues with the eggs themselves or the packing, any issues I’ve had belong squarely on the shoulders of lovely Canada post for bad handling. even then I wound up with a 50% hatch rate which is a win in my books.

I have Hedmora eggs in the incubator! I got 3 from Greenfire Farms through an ebay auction. I'd never heard of them before but I think that I may become obsessed!!! Yours are so beautiful. Please keep posting photos. I am in love with Justice!

These guys kind of surprised me, too. I had no idea what they were like, I just ordered a few eggs to round out my order the first time. Then I got hooked. Haha. They’re very personable birds, and these 3 actually seem to enjoy being held. I guess different bloodlines might be different personality wise but I’m super happy with these!
wednesday/Thursday is our next photo shoot.

3 weeks old now - don’t mind the giant crops, they’re little piglets. and seriously the sweetest chicks I’ve hatched yet (besides Verity but no surprise there. Lol). I’ve got some guesses as to sexes but I’ll wait and see in a few weeks.
