Sweet Delawares!!

Hi I just wanted to share and ask questions about this. Do any of you have Delaware chickens and how do they act?

Ours are very sweet, they just moved into the big coop recently. Every time I go in there they start chasing me and peeping like crazy. They'll stand at my feet screaming until I pick them up and then all they want to do is cuddle haha. They have been really nice like this ever since we got them as tiny babies. When they were smaller we'd try and grab the food or water bowl to refill it and they would run into our hands to be picked up. Right now they are about 2 months old and nothing has changed with their personalities ❤ Best chickens ever

Just a fyi we didn't give them too much attention but they still ended up like this. With our other types of chickens in the past we gave them attention 24/7 and their not that friendly.
Does it just depend on the breed then?

I had a couple Delawares in my in-town flock. They were neither especially friendly nor especially standoffish.

It's great to get chickens that capture your heart.

We have a Delaware and she is not cuddly but she is friendly. She is noisy as all get out, makes noise all day, constantly yelling, but is a very nice girl anyway, just doesn’t have an indoor voice (she does live outside, after all). She is the first to pick up her skirts and hustle on over when she sees me though and I feel like that counts for something. She does enjoy being picked up by our 7 year old daughter and will happily pass out in her arms. Chickens can be so fickle .
