sweet potato?

I am a little embarrassed to say that not only do I buy and bake sweet potatos for the girls - they also occasionally get butter and brown sugar too...sad isn't it?

well I gave it to them.

all chopped up. I will say they "like" it but not "love" they are not going to beg for it like they do clover and grass.

they got a bit of stale spinich too - they really liked that

they seem to prefer anything green - unless it's fresh corn. They go completely crazy for fresh corn.

I would skip the sugar. They don't need it. The potatoes themselves will be a great treat. Good for you!

I baked a bunch of sweet potatoes for a dinner and then gave my girls the scooped out skins. They were curious about them, but didn't go crazy, or so I thought. I came back about an hour later and couldn't find the slightest trace of them. Must have been a feeding frenzy once they got a taste. I only had 6 hens at the time, and I baked 5 or 6 potatoes. I didn't think chickens could eat that much all at once!

Mine uncovered a couple, in the garden, after I thought that I'd dug them all up.....After about thirty seconds, I decided to let them have it... They destroyed it.

Mine love them roasted, or baked. Trouble is so do I!

I feed my cooked sweet potatoes too. Just pop it in the microwave untill it starts to soften, and then let it cool. THey love it!
