We are getting some bad weather next week and I want to prevent frostbite. (I know not to put water in coop and keep poo scooped). Don’t plan to use heaters often, only when it’s in teens and single digits for frostbite prevention.

For any of you with Sweeter Heater experience, how’s this install? Height ok? Any issues you see?

I don't use the heaters, but I think they look good. I've found that with most things, you may have to adjust to suit your needs/coop.

That said, I'm looking at your poop boards...are you using trays? If so, where did you get them, I like that too:)

Thanks. I bought trays for dog crates off Amazon that fit as close as possible. I scrape them every day and then about once a week I swap them out for clean ones and hose off the dirty set. (I bought two sets)

Those look really good (heaters and poop trays, LOL). I've seen people just cover their poop boards with old feed sacks, which seem to accumulate pretty quickly when the chicken math flares up.

Questions on the heaters; did you like them? How did they work? I'm kicking around the idea of installing two large ones in my outdoor brooder set-up for when I move the chicks out of the garage at the end of April. Here in Kansas we can get some sneaky cold weather in late April and early May, so I'd like to offer them a bit of protection when they are still young.

I like them. They are just enough to take the edge off i think. I have mine hung a little high probably could lower them and be ok. I feel like they are just enough to keep their combs from getting frostbite. They dont heat the air around them, just warm whatever object is close. (Chicken heads). Lol.
