My girl has some swelling behind her eye. Any recommendations would be appreciated. She's had it a week or so. I've put Terramycin on it but didn't seem to do anything. Maybe I need to apply it more often? No eye discharge, other than being swollen behind her eye it doesn't seem to be effecting her eye. I see no injury or other symptoms except the swelling. She has other issues but she has actually been acting better the last couple weeks with those ailments.
Also, she's a senior member of the flock and I have never seen her being pecked by her flock mates despite having a bum foot. She's been feeding better than she has for some time. Until this, I was expecting to see her in the nesting box again.

Since it's only one eye, could she have gotten a bee sting or other type of bug bite there?

I would rinse it with saline and inspect it to see if something's in it or if you can find a bite mark on her swollen part. I'd keep doing the Terramycin though. You could also give her Benadryl and see if that helps. Dosage of Childrens Benadryl is 2-4 mg per every 2.2 lbs your chicken is. She can have that every 12 hours.

I hope she gets past this!
