I picked up two Broad Breasted Whites today and brought them home. When I caught them up and checked them out there was no swelling, or drainage on their faces or legs. The spot is right below the eye and soft like a water balloon. He/She also has a bit of blood on the tail area. They both rode home in a dog carrier could the other turkey have hurt this one and if so what should I do?

Do NOT let them near any other birds that you might have. It could be very, very sick. I'd isolate them and watch them, and prepare to cull them if necessary. Disinfect everything, if you have any other birds.

The swelling is going down and I guess I could have worded the blood on the tail area better. The blood which I found to be a large scratch was on the side where the tail connects to te body. I treated with anti-biotic cream and checked this morning. If He had been from any other place I would have seperated him in the dog kennel. But since I had JUST picked up other birds from the same place the day before I found it not to be a big deal. Hid buddy is a bit larger than him and was pretty much shoved into the too small for two large turkeys dog crate. I misjudged their size when I bought the crate yesterday to bring them home. Just out of curiosity what could it have been. I am new to all birds and REALLY new to turkeys.
