Swimming and Fish

So I have 2 Ducks and they love to swim (OFC!) but they also love to to hunt. So I do have a pond area for them to swim but I have no fish in it as I have never intended to use it as a fish pond. But can i put fish in there for them to hunt? They love to run around and catch lizards, flies, and whatnot so can i combine their favorite activities ? If so what type of fish can i use that wouldn’t be harmful

If you are far enough south, Gizzard Shad would be perfect.
