Switched Waterer in Brooder - I LOVE IT!

Which kit did you buy? the DIY kit or what? Also how many did you all order? Can you guys post pictures of your setups when you get it up and running? I would really really appreciate it!

edit: Also do you know what size drill bit you need?

That's a great price on amazon.

To mhhousley - I got the out of the box one as I only have 3 chickens. I plan on hanging it up on the hardware cloth of the run. If I had more chickens to water, I'd probably give the DIY ones a try as that seems to be way more economical.

I purchased the push in nipples from a BYC member Neil. I have a "permanent" hook-up in my outdoor coops where there is a five gallon bucket raised on a shelf with a outdoor on/off valve in the bottom hooked to clear flexible hose that runs to a small diameter pvc pipe mounted inside the coop with 3 nipples. You should have the number of hens to nipple ratio fairly high so they work the nipples regularly 10/15 per nipple (per Neil). The one in the brooder is simply a gatorade bottle with hole drilled in cap with push in nipple and homemade wire adjustable holder that runs around ridge in gatorade bottle and slips over top of tote I use as brooder (I used auto brake line for holder) works perfectly!
