So last night and this morning I switched the duck feed from chick starter to black oil sunflower seeds.
Everyone says they work.
But I'm a bit worried.
Last night and this morning it was almost like they didn't understand when I put their food out. They didn't take to it right away. And only like 1 or 2 were even trying to peck at them.
Is it normal for them to be confused on new types of feed? Maybe it takes a bit longer for them to adjust to sunflower seed stuff (or fodder)? Any thoughts on this?
My plan was to get them used to this for a meal a day for the next 3 days, and then switch over to 'sprouted' sunflower seed fodder to try to get some gains by the sprouts having more weight and volume than individual seeds would (stretching the costs down to be more manageable and saving food also). According to what people say, it should work.
But I guess I'm a bit more worried about how they are taking it and how to get them to accept it better, and worrying it will work.
Thanks for any advise.
I really hope this works.
