Switching Feeds!!!

    Hi, at what age do you switch pullets from chick starter to layers???? if it helps there cochins and phoenix!! and srry if this sounds dumb but do roosters eat layers too???? wasent sure because they dont lay?? lol:lol:

    not a bad question at all...first of all, I switch mine over at 17-18 weeks of age, usually by then they are getting ready to lay..some take a little longer than others. And second, yes roosters will eat the same food. now some ppl. don't switch over until the chicken has started to lay, to me that's defeating the purpose,, give them the extra nutrients to start off laying..but not too early of course.
