I have a 2 year old Golden Comet. Today I let them out and saw one of them had poop stuck in her feathers. I grabbed a paper towel to try and wipe it off - it was stuck. Mom got home and washed her off. It seemed to be small balls of something and some yellow to it - it smelled really bad. Behind her feathers around her vent is all red. When I picked her up, she seemed fairly larger in between her legs (I suppose where her intestines are). I checked the other chickens and they seem normal.
I'm not sure what could be wrong. We put her in a bath of warm water and felt inside her vent, but didn't feel an egg, so I don't think it's an egg issue. Possibly a worm or parasite?
Help is appreciated.
Thanks.
