Thank you so much! I am most grateful. I will be looking for that product tomorrow first thing.
I have two more questions though.
1) Beside keeping waterers and feeders clean, can I use some preventative measures to protect/anticipate another case within her flock?
2) what else can I feed her to prevent her loosing more weight? I just added bread with milk today to her scrambled eggs. I am fermenting their feed, but I am worried the seeds can get stuck in her cheek. I need something that slides down. She seems tired of yogurts.

1. You can keep canker in check by purchasing and using acidified copper sulfate monthly. Add 1/8 teaspoon to one gallon of water once a month for 3 days in a row. Dont use metal waterers.

2. Hopefully there are no lesions in her esophagus or crop. The lesions in her mouth are preventing her from swallowing food. Stop all the human foods and mix a watery gruel of layer feed with two or three drops of poultry nutri drench mixed in the gruel.
You can tube feed her with the gruel.

On the subject
of food, I do have chick crumbles I could mix with some water (milk?) or other. Would that work?
She does eat her eggs and soaked bread, so hopefully no tubing will be necessary. I just added the soaked bread yesterday.

A quick little update. I found the product and gave her her first dose today. She is eating the gruel. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Here is a quick update and more questions. After 6 days of metronidazole, she has now normal looking poop. She is eating better too. I am feeding her regular fermented layer feed on a gruel form, scambled eggs mixed with a little yogurt (the natural kind).
BUT, the inside of her mouth has not changed, she still has trouble swallowing and is still spouting mucus through her beak and nostrils.
I clean up her nostrils and inside mouth every morning when I give her her medication.
She also is dealing (meaning we are dealing) with a serious lice infestation. I have given her a bath 5 days ago and have been putting DE under her feathers all over her body as part of the morning routine as well.
I feel bad that I didn't notice this before, but as I mentioned, she is a Spitzhauben and not very easily approachable (although she lets me pick her up without a fight now).
So now the questions. Is it normal that there is no visible improvement in her mouth? How long should I wait to confirm if it is the right treatment for her? What else can I do to speed up her recovery?
She is a fighter and so resilient. I cannot let her down.

Was metronidazole on the label of the API General Cure box? How much were you giving? Usually with metronidazole (FishZole, Flagyl,) the dosage is 250 mg daily for 5-6 days. Ronidazole is another pigeon medicine that some use to treat canker. Other things can cause yellow plaques inside the beak, such as viruses (fowl pox, ILT,) and bacterial diseases (MG, coryza.) But the look of your picture seems like canker.
Can you get some permethrin 10 spray or the garden dust for treatment of the lice? They should be treated every 10 days until lice are gone.

It could be wet pox. It effects the upper respiratory system, trachea, larynx. The lesions interfere with swallowing food and water. There is no treatment for wet pox and the outlook is not good.
It could also be some type of cancer, not sure.
I believe comfort care would be best at this juncture.

It is metrodinazole benz susp.
