My little gals seem to have swollen crops. I replaced their hay nest (they are being reared by my broody hen) w/ shavings the other day and since then I've changed it out to those dry bedding pellets. They have plenty of water and now I've given them chick grit. Is there anything else I should do? They're very active and seem just fine otherwise. I've used shavings before without a problem, but I kind of freaked out after reading a bunch of other posts about not using shavings. I'm really worried that I'm going to go out tomorrow morning and find them all dead. Am I just worrying too much?

How old are they? Are their crops swollen all the time or just after they eat? They're supposed to be full after they eat.

They're one week old. They've only been swollen since yesterday, but it doesn't seem to be going down.
