The calcium gluconate here is 23% solution. We use 1ml dose orally I don't know you would be able to figure that out with what your feed store offers. I would be very careful with the oyster shells you don't want her clogged up from eating too many it can happen. That is why we never add it to the feed just let them eat it when they need it. Many times we have to give more than one dose of the calcium gluconate so it may be fine to use the one from your feed store. If she is eating well you could try the citrate over her feed. I don't think it will work as well the the gluconate though. The cal gluconate was what a vet used to get a members ducks to lay when she was egg bound and most of us have it on hand in case we need it in a hurry. I had a chicken hen egg bound about a month ago the calcium gluconate got her egg moving. Oh, and this calcium gluconate we buy here is also meant for cattle we just use it orally instead of injecting.
Yes we just have a bowl of oysters shells. Since we have a drake and they all eat from the same food we don’t add the calcium to their food but give them the option to have the shells. I’ve never noticed her eating too much of them. She is unfortunately not friendly enough to want to be held so she is hard to get. I am going out of town today so my husband will be on his own so we were going to try and mix in the calcium with some peas because we know we can get her alone to eat them. The calcium gluconate here is 23% solution.
