Hi Guys,
I’ve got a sick chicken
this happened in the last 24-48 hours. It’s been raining a ton here so I wasn’t outside with them as much as usual. Today I saw Cinderella looking shabby and being too docile, almost seemed dizzy when walking. Upon further inspection I see her eyes are terrible. One is very swollen and looks puss filled and one is bubbling and her nose is draining as well. She is still eating , foraging etc. laid an egg yesterday. I have now separated her from the flock although I
it’s probably too late for that. Any ideas on what this is or how to treat her? I had a Hen die last month and the necropsy didn't have a really answer but it was a swollen brain. Hoping we don't have a nasty contagious situation over here.
- Also additional information is that she has been laying these weird eggs that have a sandpaper almost crystalized top for a while, and she has had a dirty vent. I have cleaned her and wormed her and tried everything to make sure she is healthy but I think something has finally caught up with her.
I have a flock of 14 ( 4 of which are about 10 weeks old) and she is one of my originals which I think ( in retrospect) I purchased from a bad farmer b.c most of those chickens have died from random illnesses.
Any feedback or help would be appreciated! Pictures Attached.
