My poor little “teddy” 5 weeks old and the family sweetie has a swollen foot! They are outside most of the day. Her toes look fine and there’s no bruising it’s just the area where all the toes connect to the foot the “pad” I guess you’d call it. She is still trucking along not limping or favoring the other side but does lay down whenever the group has found a good spot to forage around. Should I be worried? Should I keep her in the pen where she can’t walk around to much?

Can you post some photos of the foot?

Have you inspected the bottom of the foot for any scabs or something stuck between the toes (poop, bedding, splinters, etc.)

You can’t really tell from pic

Is the upper leg swollen a little at the joint? Could just be the skin color, with feathered feet it's sometimes hard to tell.

I see a little swelling at the toe, I wonder if she bent it backwards or something.
You can try soaking the foot in epsom salts to see if that help reduce any inflammation.

The last time I checked it felt like the swelling had gone a bit, but before it felt like she had a soft marble inside her footpad! I didn’t notice any swelling on her leg but I’ll look again when I bring them in soon thank you for the replies I’ll report back later

So just got all the girls in and Teddy’s foot is still swollen. Mostly around that joint that @Wyorp Rock pointed out. I don’t have any epsom salt right now hopefully the swelling will go down over night I’m just hoping it’s not a break:( if it is what is recommended that I should do? Or even if it’s just sprained again she isn’t limping or favoring the other side. Thanks again

I have a duck recovering from a bad break a little higher on the leg her foot probably isn’t broken because my ducks broken foot and leg swelled up to abought 2times the size but I’m no expert I’m just telling you from experience
