My chicks foot has swollen for 2 days. I’m not sure what happened. The foot doesn’t seem to bother the chick. She walks in it just fine. I did move their coop, but I don’t think her foot got stuck.

Hello Egg Snatcher,

Chicks have a way of injuring their feet in the most unexpected of ways. It is possible it could be strained. I say that because mites would cause the scales to lift up and bumblefoot is usually on the underside of the foot. Gout is another possibility, but generally only happens to chickens over 4 months.

Does the chick appear to be in pain? Does it walk strangely?

I hope it goes well for you!
