swollen foot

One of my chickens has a swollen foot, how do I get the swelling down? is there anything i can give her for it?

On the bottom of the foot, is there a black scab looking area? If so, do a search for bumblefoot. Otherwise, has it injured the leg? Is it moving it fine, and walking fine? Any reddened areas? Hot or normal to touch?

Also, what breed? If it's one of the meat chickens, let us know.

it is a gold link hen, and yes it is in the back of her foot I think?

come to find out she had a fish hook stuck in the back of her foot, what steps do we take to battle infection

That sounds like a definite source of bumble foot which will need vet treatment! Is it hot? swollen between toes? picture would be best.....
