I have an 8 month old hen who has a swollen leg joint. She has had it for about 4 weeks now and I can't figure out what else to do for her. I left her alone for a little thinking it was an injury that would heal itself but then I started giving g her antibiotic in case it was a joint infection. She had tylan and then I switched to baytril. She is almost done with her baytril and her joint is still just as swollen. She stopped laying eggs a week into her injury. She is eating and drinking just fine. She finches any time I touch the joint. She is separated into a carrier as the other hens were going after her once she started limping. And now I've noticed that she is losing the feathers underneath her belly, and it's the middle of winter here.
I'm not quite sure what else to do for her or what it could be. If it's just a sprain it is taking a long time and I'm starting to think she won't get any better. Everyone keeps telling me to kill her but I'm not willing to do that. She's like a pet to me.
    Any suggestions???

She doesn't walk on that leg at all either. She just hold it up underneath her or puts it on top of her other for when she's resting.
Yes she was vaccinated for Mareks, and no it doesn't sound like what I've read about Mareks and stretching the leg back etc.
The swollen joint feels solid and warm to the touch.

Can you pluck the feathers just above it and post more detailed pictures?
