Swollen leg joints in Pekin duck

Maybe. Sometime arthritis doesn’t show up right away. As many of us can attest to. Def worth trying to see if it helps. I’d keep soaking his leg in warm Epsom salt water to help with swelling. Don’t let him drink the ES water it has a laxative effect.

Good afternoon, I have a situation with my 4 year old Pekin Duck. 3 days ago, we noticed he was limping and we noticed that he had a swollen join on his right leg. We gave him diclofenac to help, but we have not seen any improvements. In fact, we noticed todaym his left leg is starting to become a little swollen as weell. He can still walk, has apetite and acts naturally however we are worried about his leg situation. We will attatch pictures. Has anyone had a similar problem in the past? What could it be?View attachment 3399405View attachment 3399406View attachment 3399407View attachment 3399408
I’m not sure if you’ve figured out your situation with you duck yet but I give my ducks Mazuri Waterfowl Diet. It’s floating food so you can put in a dish with water. It really helps! My boys had a niacin deficiency issue when they we’re babies and took them to the vet and she suggested that brand. And what everyone else was saying B12. The Mazuri duckling diet is great for duckings because it has all the nutrition and niacin to avoid deficiency. So now I give the adult waterfowl diet and once a week I put a small scoop of the ducking food in there too. They’ve had strong heathy fast legs since. I trust that brand, I’m not sure about anyone else! You can get it off Chewy.com.
