I don't know what happened, I just now noticed it, he's almost 6 weeks old and I don't think he was limping b/f he sat on my lap and then got spooked at something, then jumped up and ran off slailing around and falling. Can a leg swell that fast? Now he's limping and won't sit with it under him. THey graze all day, do they still need brewers yeast? I'm just wondering when this happened... geez, poor thing, I feel so bad... what do i do? jennifer

I really don't know much about geese, but I have a hen that I have in a smaller area with a hurt leg...just giving her time to heal and get back to "two" feet. Hope all goes well with your turkey....they seem to just need time to heal unless its broken.....good luck

Someone will surely come along and have a better answer, there are great folks on here that are always willing to help you out!

Hi Jenn,

I don't know about Brewer's yeast - I've never used it. I do think it happened when he fell. I bet in a few days he'll be fine. Has he tried swimming with it? A little water therapy might help. I would let him try and rest it and see what happens in a couple of days. Is he eating and drinking and acting normal otherwise?

Hi Joni, He seems fine now... how big are their leg joints supposed to be, they seem large to me. But he's (Buzz) not limping anymore. Usually I walk them down to the tank (pond) and they swim, maybe I'll carry him, and she (Cotton) can walk. I really need to send pics, I'll go do that, but I want a pic w/ them on my lap-I LOVE MY BABIES! jennifer. BTW, it's funny, cause Kevin, my husband is out there finishing the chicken run for their safety and enclosure. He knows how much I love them, he does too, who would have known.... j
