Swollen snood

So what does one pierce it with? This seems like an Incredible Doctor Pol moment (from the Nat Geo Wild TV channel); he's always lancing parts of animals, either to release air (for bloat) or pus (from a swollen mass of infection).

Some people use a needle but a slightly bigger hole does a better job. My neighbor used a small scalpel on his tom after a needle failed to keep it drained long enough. Even a single edge razor blade could be used if done so carefully.

I looked around this morning and found some yellow poop in the pen; not wet/viscous yellow poop (obvious blackhead indicator), but yellowish hard poop nuggets; is that still a sign of blackhead?

I can't get Fish Zole (metronidzazole) in any local stores (I've called three places), and not on Amazon. I could, however, order fenbendazole on Amazon, and from what I can find online that's supposed to be a treatment for blackhead. Can anyone confirm that?
