I have a 2 year old hen that is holding her bottom down. I'm just starting too raise and don't know a whole lot, yet.. She is eating and drinking well. She laid her egg this morning on the floor of the coop so she didn't roost on the post. She will wobble around a little. I checked her over for any signs of any problems and the only thing I found was her stomach is alot larger than normal and a little hard, and she had regular looking poo on her bottom and feathers. She made a painful sound when I picked her up. Can chickens get constapated and what do you do if they are? Thank you for the last ideas.

How is she today?
If she is still poorly, let me ask a few questions.......
What do you feed her? What kind of bedding do you use?
Did the egg look normal? Any other symptoms?

I'm sorry to say this, but she may be an internal egg layer.

Your hen is showing some of the symptoms, anyway. Sometimes an egg will slip out even if she is an internal layer(a.k.a egg binding) but I'm not sure. that's just my thought. hopefully someone else will chip in and help you out!
good luck with your hen and I hope she feels better!
