Swollen toe- Not Bumblefoot

I called in a vet after the ankle / heel area started to swell. I did get another abscess out, and I am hoping that the swelling is muscle trauma from having to squish and him resting on it trying to keep the toe elevated.
He has been prescribed Metacam for the pain, and duplocillin for the infection. Both for4 days. Really hoping that this will wipe out the infection. He is managing a very difficult limp/walk which he wasn't able to do for about 10 days.

Were you able to get an x-ray of the foot?

Thank you for the kind words. This is his foot today. I started both meds, and am continuing with daily Epsom and betadine soaks and wrapping it to keep clean.

Also pictured is the absolute STINK EYE he gave me after I injected him in the breast muscle.

**Update.** the 4 days of antibiotics didn't clear the infection. I was approved for 2 additional days by the vet, about 5 days after the end of the first course. I did cut and remove more absesses along wity liquid pus, and continued on the daily changing the dressing and applying more antibiotic ointment.

By the end of the 2 additional days, Sampson was standing and even attempted mating for the first time in 2 almost 3 weeks. Yesterday was time for the weekly scab check (lifting the scab to see if pus drains) and i noticed his ankle swelling more.

Well... let's just say the whole upper ankle is now filled with liquid pus. The vet has recommended a week of sugardine both in the wound and surrounding the whole foot.. so we will start that today.
