One of my girls has a swollen waddle.. i noticed it yesterday and idk what to do.. its circular i dont know how to go sbout medicating it. i wish i had a picture if i can get one ill post it in the comments below.

Can you look her over for ticks? Is she having any signs of a respiratory infection (sneeze, watery eyes, nasal drainage, swelling of the face, or noisy breathing?) Some conditions that can cause swelling of the wattles are frostbite, coryza, fowl cholera, tick bites, or injury. Do you see anything that looks like a peck wound or sting, and is there any bruising of the wattle?

Not that i've seen.. there is her buddy that picks on her which is another golden wyandotte. she is at the bottom of the pecking order. so maybe she got a bite. maybe she got pecked by her. i dunno.

It almost looks like a marble inside of her wattle. Does it feel hard like a tumor or fluid-filled like a cyst? An abscess could also be possible. If the wattle turns blue, I would look for ticks and bites.

Shes still very active and looks really happy. does an abscess just take its course? or is there anything to help her in the meantime?

If it feels firm, it could be a tumor or cyst. You can try to drain it by lancing and squeezing. If it were an abscess, it would feel puffy and you could express puss if you lanced it. It never hurts to watch it unless she is acting sick. Many times an abscess will break open on it's own and drain.

Thank you. hopefully it does go away. yeah shes acting fine.
