swollen wattles?? hen dead??

hi, woke up this morning to my golden sebright hen dead. 3 days ago i noticed her wattles were swollen but discolored (purple) alittle but didn't think much about it because she is only a year old. she wasn't acting sick, no diarrhea, eating good, looked really healthy, no drainage from her eyes, no trauma to her body...i am so upset and shocked right now.

does anyone know what could have caused her to just to drop dead like this with no warning what so ever?? thanks for any info you can give me...Nicolle
