My hen has been sick for the last couple of weeks. She was lethargic so I brought her inside. Her poop was very green. I put her on corid thinking it might be cocci, then I put her on safe guard in case it was worms. She got a whole lot better, I was about ready to put her back with the flock, then this past Saturday she had an impacted crop, as did another hen. After feeding them soft mash and massageing their crops for several days the other hens impacted crop got better so we put her back with the others, but she got worse and got sour crop. She became very weak and thin. I emptied her crop of yellow fluid. She started eating regularly again, but she got to where she could not walk or stand. This lasted for a few day, but she got to where she could stand a little bit better, but is still having a hard time. For a few days she was breathng hard with her beak open on and off through the day. A few day ago I noticed she had something that looked like dried blood right below one of her wattles and she now seems to have a swollen wattle. She just sits or stands with her eyes closed or her head tucked behind her wing, its hard to even get her to open her eyes or eat.
She is inside in a pen so there is no way she could have hurt herself. What could cause swollen wattles like this. I really need to know. She has not layed since Saturday. I think she is dying, I don't think she will last the day, but I would like to know what causes swollen wattles like this.

She is now stretching her neck out and opening her beak like she is trying to crow, just like she did before she started to breath heavy with her beak open a few days ago. I don't know what is wrong with her but I would like to know what could possible cause her wattle to swell.

I would look through this and see if anything jumps out at you that might resemble what your hen has.
If nothing does, then I would check for any kind of wound, see if she was injured, and then put her on some antibiotics.
If she does match one of the diseases, I would do some research on it to be sure, then check for any kind of treatment. Perhaps pictures posted here will help others see the problem and help you identify it?

Last night I had another hen fall ill. She has similar symtoms to the hen I started this thread about. She just sits there when before she was really active, not eating or drinking, one of our orpingtons has not layed in two weeks, I think it might be her, she has a swollen comb that looks like it is filled with fluid. I don't know what is causing this in my hens or how to treat it, but whatever it is it spreads really slow. Unfortunately I had to put the other hen down when after several weeks it was obvious she wasn't getting any better and was only suffering. I hope I don't have to do the same this time.

It sounds like you have something viral in your flock. I would see if you can find a lab to do a necropsy on any birds who may pass away from this point on, or invest in advice from a vet.
Swollen wattles is nothing I have ever come across, however i would strongly suggest doing research or consulting a professional.
Best of luck to you! This has to be hard, im very sorry your birds are going through this :(
