Woke up this morning to my Chickpea swollen wattles, purplish, and very fluffed up herself. She's been standing in cool water all day. We have no avian vets here. Help what do you think it could be? She's 3 years old, was laying consistently. Went into nesting box this morning but I didn't see egg she laid.

Poor darling Chickpea. I’m sorry she is struggling. Is she doing any better?

I’m not so familiar with what can cause swollen wattles, so I will tag some more experienced folks. But to start do you see any visible wounds or puncture holes to her wattles?

Are they around any snakes or bugs that could’ve stung her there?

Her wattles look bruised and swollen. Could she have been injured or bullied by another chicken or rooster? Have you noticed a tick bite on her wattles? Those can cause blueness and bleeding into the wattles. What is your general location?
No she gets along with everyone greatly. I am in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We did find and kill a copperhead 3 days ago. I'm sure there's more around. And I'm sure we have ticks. Her poop looked yellowish earlier when she went to bed. I'm scared she's not going to make it through the night tbh. But she didn't seem to have breathing issues when I was with her.

She's alive still! Still swollen. Hard time jumping down from roost. I'm going to give her benadryl. Do u think it's ok to do it during day? I don't want it to make her sluggish. It's going to be 100°+ again today . Thanks for yalls help!!! I will search her for any bites
