One of my hens has a small swelling on her toe. It appears to be at the toe joint but is to the side. There is no visible scratch or scab, and the rest of her feet look fine. She doesn't seem to be in pain and it feels normal temperature to me.

Shes 8 months old and currently in a broody box, pooping normally and seems to be eating and drinking fine as well. I only noticed the lump yesterday. I washed her feet but didnt treat it with anything.

None of the other hens have this. Sorry for photo quality, she didnt want to stand still

(I attatched photos of the underside of her feet just in case, but I don't see anything wrong with them)

Welcome To BYC!

I do see a slight lump there. If she's not limping or doesn't indicate it's painful, it may be best to just monitor the lump to see if it resolves on its own or shows any changes.

Thank you for your reply.

The lump has gotten bigger, but is not not noticably hot. It is pinkish now, where it used to be yellow-white. Its also moved from the side of her toe to almost the top.

There is still only one noticable lump, but the same toe joint on the other side has a split scale. There is no swrlling but I dont know if this is an early sign.

Again, sorry for photo quality. The lump also looks much smaller in photos.
